Megan Lyons, Trista Newman, and Elizabeth Stahovich (Casico Lab) all had the opportunity to travel to San Diego, California to present their research projects at the international American Chemical Society (ACS) Spring 2025 Conference. All three were awarded with Duquesne ACS Junior Travel Awards (full support) to travel to the conference, present posters that highlight their research efforts, and network with biochemist from all over the world. The lab is EXTREMELY proud of them and look forward to how this experience will benefit these students in the future!

Welcome Mia!
The Heisler lab is excited to welcome Mia to our lab this semester. Mia a freshman biochemistry major who aspires to be a medical doctor. Her project will focus on proteins and genes related to the pathology of multiple sclerosis (MS) and how structures in the regulatory elements of genes linked to MS might provide new avenues for therapeutic intervention.
